SINCE 2026
Our Story
Founded in the heart of New Hampshire, 603 Canine Rescue was created from a simple belief: every dog deserves a second chance at a safe, loving life.
Through our experience in rescue, we recognized the importance of thoughtful, individualized care for dogs and honest, supportive guidance for adopters. We created 603 Canine Rescue to help meet that need through compassion, transparency, and responsible placement.
We also believe relationships and trust are at the heart of the rescue world. Rescue takes a community, and we are committed to building strong partnerships and operating with integrity, open communication, and compassion every step of the way.
Our goal is simple: to create lasting matches and brighter futures for dogs in need.

Kristen’s love for dogs began at a young age, growing up with her family dog, Sadie. From practicing basic training to playing endless games of soccer together. That early bond sparked a lifelong passion. She was raised in a multi dog household, which helped shape her understanding of different personalities and needs.
Her passion for rescue quickly grew into a major part of her life. What started as volunteering and fostering naturally grew into being involved in many different parts of the rescue process, giving her hands on experience along the way.
Kristen has three dogs of her own, each of whom has taught her something unique about behavior, challenges, and care. She is committed to continuing her education and deepening her knowledge in animal welfare.
Outside of rescue, Kristen enjoys spending time outdoors, including riding motorcycles and snowmobiles.

My love for dogs started at the age of 2. That passion led me to begin volunteering at my local animal shelter in high school, sparking a lasting commitment to animal welfare. I have gained over 12 years of experience in animal shelter work and dog rescue and have personally fostered more than 40 dogs. This hands on experience has given me a deep understanding of each dog’s individual needs, from intake through adoption. Advocacy and compassionate care are at the core of everything I do. Whether working with children, animals, or members of the community, I believe in speaking up for those who cannot advocate for themselves. Outside of work, some of my favorite hobbies include painting, drawing and kayaking. At home, I share my life with my own dog who was once feral and ultimately became my foster fail. That experience shaped my understanding of patience, trust, communication and the importance of meeting each dog where they are at.

Dogs have always been a part of my life, from walking neighborhood dogs for $2 as a kid to discovering a deep, lifelong passion for training, fostering, and rescue. I grew up immersed in animal care through 4H, FFA, and countless hours spent volunteering at my local barn, always drawn to the dogs and horses who needed a little extra love. Today, I share my life with a German Shorthaired Pointer who competes in NAVHDA and loves dock diving, along with a rescue Lab who completely changed my heart and led me into fostering. Being around a working police K9 has also given me a deep respect for the intelligence, loyalty, and purpose dogs bring into our lives. Fostering became more than something I did. It became part of who I am. I’ve welcomed more dogs into my home than I can count, each one leaving a mark. I’m known for saying, “This one’s just for two weeks. I’m not keeping them!” but my family knows how often those words come from a heart that’s already attached. This rescue was built on one simple belief: every dog deserves more than just a second chance, they deserve a life filled with safety, enrichment, love, and respect. “Saving one dog won’t change the world, but it will change the world for that one dog.”
